Site is going down on random interval

I noticed last night and just now, that while writing a post on my website, the site will just go offline, causing me to lose everything.

    Sorry to hear about the issue, we were able to notice couple of errors in the server side, one is related in the theme side:

    [01-Feb-2019 00:48:37 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /xxx/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/index.php:6

    And another:

    WordPress database error Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes for query INSERT INTOwp_8c_options

    The latest logs are pointing to the theme side though, which is odd.

    Just to be sure does the site comes back up automatically, once you notice the issue? If yes, it might be more related to the DB error. Could you please confirm regarding this?

    Could you also point out if there are steps to replicate the issue, so that we could closely observe this, and check what could be done to help correct this issue.
