Restore Snapshot Backup to New Managed Hosting

I have tried the new beta of shipper, but it isn't working for my site yet. So, in order to try to move my site to the new WPMU managed hosting I created a snapshot backup, but I cant figure out how to restore that backup on my new managed server. There is now way to ftp to upload the file, import doesn't have the option of claiming a backup from another site.

What are the options? I could install a file browser plugin, but there really should be a more elegant way, especially if I'm going to do this with more sites.

Thanks!

    Hello there Ben

You can absolutely create SFTP accounts in your WPMUDEV Hosting site, here's how:

[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

So you can either upload the managed backup in the root folder (where config.php is) along with standalone installer, or in /wp-content/uploads/snapshots/ and restore it from within Snapshot plugin.

    Warm regards,

    Dimitris

Thanks. I was able to get the backup archive up on the host. (I didn’t realize that “users” there meant ftp and ssh users).

The restore failed anyway. Unfortunately snapshot doesn’t provide much info as to why.

I think I’ll just try to old fashioned way now that I have ftp and database access.

    Thanks for the help!
