Firefox redirects in MAMP environment

Hi,

On my MAMP environment I have an installation of MU and a number of sites running wordpress intallations and a joomla, mambo etc. They all open in safari. The MU was set up by setting up a virtual host 127.0.0.1.localdomain.

The MU site, worpdress sites and all the non wordpress sites open in firefox, but only the MU, joomla, mambo etc., and a few of the wordpress sites open normally. The other sites give an error message, “The page isn’t redirecting properly”.

I’ve spent a great deal of time on and off for months trying to figure this out and really have no idea what is happening.

Does any one have any ideas?

    Sorry, my fist post was a little confusing, every thing works fine in safari it’s firefox, chrome, i.e. (using wine) that are not working on all sites.

    The mu site works at localhost.localdomain.com, it’s the single user wordpress that is working on a couple of sites but not the others. I know this is for mu, but I was hoping someone would be able to help here. I really don’t know what to trouble shoot in terms of why some sites open and some don’t, the config files are set up the same.
