domain mapping temporary cookie

lets say;

mainblog.com is main wpmu site

example.com is domain mapped of example.mainblog.com site.

i want to give mainblog.com cookies to example.com for commenting. that can be temporary, like expire 10min later or something.

why i want it? i want to use domain mapping some blogs but i dont want my visitors need to login every mapped domain to comment.

how can i do that?

    You have to code a routine that checks to see if a user is logged in on mainblog.com when they hit a page on example.com. If they are you automatically log them in on example.com.

    The domain mapping plugin Donncha released doesn’t have this feature due to Automattic not allowing him to use the code that runs this feature on wp.com.

    Thanks,

    Donncha actually walk through the process when the plugin was first released. You’d have to dig for the post as I don’t see it right off and I’m time limited today. He called it "remote login" I believe. I did find a couple mentions of it but not where he walked through the process.

    actually there must be a solution probably

    Someone here reported that older versions of the plugin worked but no one was able to confirm that.

    As I recall the walkthru, all you have to do is reissue the cookies but for the new domain. I couldn’t find the discussion yesterday and I can’t reach the site today.

    edit: I’m going home. I can’t even reach my own support forums. But yet I can pull up my adult client’s main site without problem. Yup, love the library.
