BuddyPress and WordPress MU Plugins

I’ve noticed that some of the WordPress MU plug-ins don’t seem to work on my WordPress MU 2.7 install with BuddyPress 1.0 RC-1.

Is this a known issue? I don’t see much discussion of it over at the BuddyPress Forums.

    Silly buddypress question: I’m seeing a lot of poorly done “Upload Avatar during sign up” placements on these installs. No error messages, no instructions on what needs to be done, no file size or filetype requirements, etc.

    Is this built in with buddypress as a requirement (ie does the form get added automatically?) or are folks manually adding it in?

    I’m asking because is it automatic, that’s a bit of concern for me and I’ll go ahead and raise a trac ticket on it along with my reasoning why it’s a bad idea. If site admin are manually adding it in, that’s an education issue for the site admin.

    The ones I’ve looked at, it’s required. Or appears to be that way. No error gets returned when I try to register without one but I wind up on that screen. That’s why I was asking if it’s bp doing the requirement or the site admin.
