Plugins Compatible with WPMU 2.7.1?

Hi,

I just signed up and tried out a few plugins. It seem like none of the plugins I tried works under WPMU 2.7.1. some widgets sich as recent global posts only turn out empty. The widget global blogs update gives me a illegal function call when activated.

Is this because I am using WPMU 2.7.1? I upload them to /plugins and not /mu-plugins

Thanks,

most of the plugins have some note with the version of wpmu they are compatible but as far as I know "most" plugins are compatible with 2.7.1

so why did you install them into the plugins folder? Please read all the isntall.txt files and proceed accordingly. Don’t just dump them into mu-plugins either, read the install.txt file!

drmike, I was not really asking about the error itself, but more in general if the plugins are updated for 2.7.1 or not. I skimmed through the plugins and cant see any that supports 2.7.1.

I assume that with 2.7.1 all plugins are supposed to be in /plugins and not /mu-plugins anymore. If I copied them to the latter, they would not even be visible in the admin area.

Problem being, I paid for something I basically cant use, unless there will be an upgrade of all plugins in the near future.

    Hiya,

All plugins should work with 2.7.1.

I assume that with 2.7.1 all plugins are supposed to be in /plugins and not /mu-plugins anymore.

Never assume anything like that. Nothing has changed with mu-plugins. Always install according to the directions.

If I copied them to the latter, they would not even be visible in the admin area.

Plugins in mu-plugins are automatically activated and will not show up on the plugins page.

Problem being, I paid for something I basically cant use, unless there will be an upgrade of all plugins in the near future.

The plugins should work just fine if they’re installed according to the direction for each plugin (install.txt in each zip download).

    Thanks,

    Andrew

I’ve got a brand new WordPress MU install on PSEK, and the domain name hasn’t propagated yet so I’m accessing it through my IP…

I’ve uploaded several Premium plugins into the mu-plugins folder (like the "default theme" one and "footer-content", but I don’t see them active in my Admin panel anywhere.

What am I missing? How do I access the /mu-plugins I upload? I don’t see it listed under Site Admin=>Options.

I have "plugins enabled" in the Options menu, but I think that’s just for regular plugins, not the ones in the /mu-plugins folder, right?

Please help me figure out how to access the /mu-plugins I’ve uploaded, thanks.

    Hiya,

and the domain name hasn’t propagated yet so I’m accessing it through my IP

It’s really best to wait for the DNS changes to propagate.

Please help me figure out how to access the /mu-plugins I’ve uploaded

Plugins placed in mu-plugins are automatically activated/loaded.

like the "default theme" one and "footer-content"

The default theme plugin should add an option to the "Site Admin -> Options" and the footer content plugin should add a page at "Appearance -> Footer Content".

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Hmmm. The MU plugins don’t activate if the folder they reside in is uploaded (along with the txt explanation files), but they work when uploading just the PHP file… At least the ones I tried (footer-content, etc).

Well that wasted a good amount of time, is that a glitch or just the way it is? Doesn’t matter I guess…
